Cynthia is a Registered Acupuncturist in good standing with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario. She graduated from the Institute of Traditional Medicine (ITM) in Toronto with a Diploma of Acupuncture. Her clinical training included ITM’s Pain and Stress Clinic, Women’s Clinic, National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) training, the off-site PWA (Persons With AIDS) clinic in downtown Toronto, as well as an internship at a community acupuncture clinic.
Prior to studying acupuncture, Cynthia trained in Zen Shiatsu at Kokoro Do Jo (now Eight Branches Academy of Eastern Medicine) and fell in love with the Japanese approach of diagnosis through palpation and the concept of strengthening the constitution and gentle methods to support the body’s healing process. She later completed training in the renown Dr. Tan Balance Method acupuncture.
Cynthia loves working to build people’s life force energy and restore the balance between the elements for health in body and mind using a combination of acupuncture, massage, moxabustion, gua sha, cupping and diet therapy to best treat the client. She also enjoys educating clients in preventative health practices that have been practiced in Asia for centuries.
