A typical 30 minute acupuncture session will run as follows:
- The first few minutes are a taking of health history and main complaint(s). Follow-up sessions will review any changes, improvements, updates.
- Taking a tongue and pulse diagnosis. Other diagnostics may also be used such as electrical resistance meters, blood pressure, iodine patch test or others as indicated.
- Acupuncture is applied to the lower limbs, arms, head and/or ears as needed. This represents the bulk of the session, you lying on the treatment table and relaxing while the needles do their work. The lights may be dimmed and nature sounds played to help you enter a more relaxed state.
- I will check in to see how you are doing about halfway through and to adjust any electrical stimulation for best results.
- At the end of the session, acupuncture is removed. You will be given a treatment plan and recommendations to set you up for optimal healing.
